I have always been fascinated by colored gems---Ammolite, Opals, Labradorite and many others.
This shop concentrates on Ammolites but I like to occasionally offer top quality items of other gemstones.
Labradorite is an interesting gemstone with its electric displays of color known as "Schiller" that seem deep embedded in the stone.
This is a Canadian Labradorite of high quality and has the habit of blaring its schiller colors and then switching it off entirely as the pendant is moved.
Labradorite is found in many locations but as the name indicates it was first discovered as a gem in Labrador Canada.
Much labradorite is of inferior quality but the much rarer top quality gems are increasing in value.
This gem was cut and polished by an expert--measures 25x18mm and has nice schiller of blues and gold.
Set in a simple and unisex gallery frame setting of Argentium* sterling silver.
Argentium silver* is a blend of modern tarnish-resistant silver alloys, containing either 93.5% or 96% silver. Argentium alloys replace some of the copper in the traditional sterling silver alloy (92.5% silver + 7.5% copper) with the metalloid germanium.Because of its high silver content it is still classified as sterling silver.
